A family in Amersfoort wanted to expand their forest villa with bedrooms for the three children and a bar and party room.
This expansion required considerable volume. The existing house consisted of two volumes. In order to connect the extension to the existing house, the same volume was created, which was constructed in a semi-sunken design. This resulted in a split-level layout, which was in line with the original villa – the fitness room and utility room have now been deepened.
The bedrooms of the children are situated on the low level. In order to be able to involve the terrace with the bar area during parties, a completely open folding glass wall was chosen. The space in the high level has no direct daylight and is therefore ideally suited as a film and game room.
